Representative Coaching

Expressions of Interest for Coaches in our Manawatū Representative Programme

Interested in coaching with Basketball Manawatū for the upcoming 2023 season?

We want to hear from you!

Basketball Manawatū has appointed our Head Coaches for our Under 15 Boys & Girls, Under 17 Boys & Girls, Under 19 Boys and our D League Women’s teams and will shortly be calling for Expressions of Interest for our Under 23 Men’s age groups.

Our call Under 13 coaches will be launched in Term 2 of 2023

Basketball Manawatū provides extensive support for our coaches, including an evidence-based coaching approach for team training, and guidelines for game management.

We want to promote a climate of development in rangatahi (youth) sports that emphasizes effort/improvement, everyone matters, kids sharing in control, learning through play and early diversification.

Many of our coaches return from year to year to coach in both our junior and senior programmes.

Coaching commitment:

  • Attend trials (See trial post for dates and times)
  • Lead your team in weekly trainings.
  • Lead your team at weekend and tournament match play.
  • Attain BBNZ Level 1 Coaching accreditation and attend any courses offered.

For an application form and more information please email Tania Hunter our Basketball Manawatu Development Officer.
