Glory League

Glory League provides an automated camera system which we use to create our “plays of the week” videos, as well as being our official record of scores in each game.

Here at the CET Arena in Palmerston North, we currently have Glory League camera’s covering all of our nine main competition courts, as well as one in the main Fly Palmy Arena Show-court. Thus allowing us coverage of almost every game play here at this venue.

So mum’s and dad’s can save their phone batteries and watch games in the comfort of their own home within 24 hours of the game being played.

Basketball Manawatu has recently worked with “InspireNet”, our internet providers, and Glory League to establish Live Streaming of many of our games.

This year with the support of See Media we were able to live stream all of Summer League Series finals.

Please get in touch with your teams contact, the Teacher In-Charge of Basketball at your school, your schools Sports Coordinator or Tess, our Basketball Manawatu Competitions and Events Coordinator to register your email address on the system, if you do not currently have access to your Glory League game footage.

When you are doing Scorebench duties for your game you are effectively creating tags within Glory League to then create highlight reels of all the action.

So please remember to share/tag/comment on any exciting plays on Glory League so we can find the best highlights a little more easily to collate!

This is our official record of games, which does have information passed on to news outlets based off of the information we originally receive from Glory League.

Using Glory League to Score Games

The technique to correctly score on the Glory League iPads:

  • the scorer should tap on the screen as soon as a shot goes up in the appropriate area of the court (i.e. inside the 3 Point arch, or outside it)
  • Then against the correct player’s number, the scorer hits red (if it misses) or green (if it goes in) accordingly
  • Both scorers should double check the physical scoreboard flipchart matches the iPad’s score BEFORE the referee “Finalizes the game” at the end of the game.
